One small step....

One small step for me and one giant leap for my faltering self esteem. My imperfections have held me back for a long time. At 25 I have decided to stop striving for perfection and just wear what I want when I want to. I would say expect more outfit posts but I'm still poor as hell. Attitude clothing if you wanna sponsor I'd totally be up for that because I love that website or Killstar co. I'm not fussy.

Recent Collages + Haikus

a girl celebrates/ one year older, no wiser/ hopes to be better
quarter century/ achievements negated in my mind, / the brain is not right
the future seems bleak / someone motivate me please, / i seek salvation
irregular work / self-imposed restrictions / how do i break free?

my flickr
The haikus and images are not related.

I don't know why haikus baffled me for so long. I might start posting haikus. It's a succinct way to describe what I'm feeling. It would also give me a creative way to describe art posts instead of just linking to my flickr. It was my birthday two days ago. I bought myself was Catcher in the Rye. I'm liking it so far.

Vegan Fashion Wishlist

As I slowly transition into veganism (it's early days though) I thought I should really should consider my style. The main areas of concern for me were leather and wool. I don't really wear silk, shearling, fur or animal skins. I know there are more animals used in the clothing industry but I don't want to waste any more time listing them all. Here's a link if you're interested. Leather was always engrained my brain as a badass material that just made me cooler. However after watching Earthlings and seeing the truth behind how leather is produced it lost it's appeal. There are so many faux leather options and they're always cheaper! As for wool (for warmth in the winter) I can use flannel and acrylic. I just have to be more diligent about checking tags, shop around more and look into thrift shops more. It's worth it.

Graphic Novel Wishlist

I have fallen in love with graphic novels this year and honestly I hope to buy and read all the books mentioned below this year. As I said previously I think graphic novels are get me out my reading slum and make it so I don't feel like "such a slow reader". I hoping to build up to tome books... eventually. I'll tackle you one day Game of Thrones! Damn beast of a book then I'll be able to enjoy the TV show.

Collage + Jan Updates

I think I'm going to start doing updates on how I've been doing each month. It'll help me to be more positive, remembering what I've accomplished that month. Also if I only make one collage it's a place to showcase it and break up the text post.

January Successes
  • I feel better mentally and physically.
  • Meditation and yoga are working for me.
  • Transitioning to a plant based diet hasn't been as difficult as I thought it would be.
  • Had a job interview! So happy.
  • I've read a few graphic novels this month.

February Goals
  • Continue reading daily even if it's only 1-2 pages a day.
  • Hopefully find a job this month.
  • Go to the gym! At least 4 times. That's once a week. It's doable for sure.
  • Blog at least four times this month. Get into the routine man!
  • Keep my plant based diet going!
  • (Hopefully get something pierced.)
What has the first month of 2016 been like for you? I love hearing from you guys. Onwards and upwards!
